The Polish is one of the funniest looking chicken breeds around, and they have one of the best personalities!
About The Breed
The Polish isn’t necessarily the best laying breed, but because of their looks and personality they can make a great addition to your flock! The Polish is most commonly used as a show bird! They are very sweet, calm and pretty quiet compared to a lot of other breeds. Since they can’t see very well they tend to be a little flighty, I have found our Polish in the top of a tree before!

When will they start laying?
The Polish will start laying when they are around 5 months old! They lay around 180 white eggs a year. If you are wanting to know what some of the earliest laying breeds are then check out this post here.

Are they good for a backyard flock?
Yes, the Polish can make a great addition your backyard flock, but keep in mind that they tend to be a little flighty. Which means that you might want to clip their wings, to learn how to properly clip a chicken’s wing click here! They probably aren’t the best breed for free-ranging because they can’t see the best, so they usually get lost and they can get caught by a predator way easier.
I would recommend this breed to anyone who is looking to add a little style to their flock!
