Because chickens don’t bathe in water you need to provide them some dirt so that they can dust bathe. There are many reasons why it’s important so I am going to share them with you.
-1 It helps them fight off parasites that can effect them
Bugs such as fleas and mites can really do a lot of harm to your flock. By providing them a dust bath you are helping your flock prevent these issues.
-2 It will help their feathers

Chickens love dust bathing because it makes them feel refreshed! Usually, they like a spot where it is somewhat hidden from predators and in the sun. It also gives them some time to relax and enjoy the sun.
