About The Breed
Barred Rocks are a very common breed that a lot of chicken owners have. They lay a large brown egg that can have a slight pinkish tint to it. They are both cold and warm hardy so they do well in both climates!

Yes, they do great in a backyard flock! Barred Rocks are a great breed for beginners and are super friendly. They just have a stronger personality than some of the other breeds, so they will most likely be at the top of the pecking order.
