Tips for letting your broody hen hatch eggs!

Here are a few tips for having a successful hatch and ways you can help your hen!

Tip 1-

My first tip would be to label the eggs as soon as she collects her nest. The first time that one of my hens went broody I made the mistake of not labeling the eggs. So when I went out there to check on her I didn’t know which she had been sitting on and which she had gathered that day. So that ended up with the eggs not developing at the same time.

Tip 2-

This is kinda similar to tip 1, but make sure that you go out to the coop every day and collect the extra eggs. And if you marked them it will be easy to tell which eggs are which.

Tip 3-

Make sure to keep an eye on your hen. Because broody hens will only come out of the coop once a day you need to make that they are getting a good amount of food and water. You also need to make sure that she isn’t overheating from sitting in the coop all day.
