Rhode Island Reds are known to be great foragers! They could do well in a backyard but are much happier free-ranging! The hens are known for being sweet and usually a little loud making them not the ideal breed for a backyard. Make sure to be careful with the roosters because they are known for being more aggressive then others. But hey, you never know you may find one of the sweetest roosters that happen to be this breed!
