The Olive Egger- is the breed right for you?

Today I am going to be talking about this awesome chicken breed. They are unique because they lay a beautiful olive green egg.

About the breed

This chicken breed lays a gorgeous olive green egg, they produce around 200 eggs a year. Olive Eggers begin laying when they are 5 months old which is a perfect time if you are wanting a good layer!

Since Olive Eggers are a cross breed they come in all sorts of colors! They are usually a cross between a blue egg layer and a brown egg layer, like a Maran (brown egg) and an Ameraucana (blue egg.) In general Olive Eggers are friendly and are great for beginners! So if you are wanting a rainbow basket of eggs then be sure to add this breed to your flock.

I would highly recommend this breed to anyone who is beginner or just wants a friendly chicken breed! Let me know if you have this breed and if you love it just as much as I do!
